February 1
Calgary Flames take on the Edmonton Oilers in the Battle of Alberta. We’ll be starting with Hockey Night Specials at Yellow Door Bistro and Raw Bar. Pro tip: Parking is included, so you can walk to the ‘Dome after.

Spend some time at the Calgary Public Library, and discover a new author. Refresh with a sandwich and coffee at Lukes East Village.

Take a Cocktail Class at Shelter (minutes from the hotel). Tickets are sold in advance.

Check out Exposure – Alberta’s Photography Festival. On February 5th, you can participate in an Instagram Live Tour of the Fence Exhibition. Access it on Instagram by going to @exposurephotofestival at 12:30pm.

It’s been a week – take a break. Try Raw Bar’s ‘La Bamba’ which is our Moscow Mule with a kick, thanks to the addition of Jalapeño Coriander and Ginger Beer.

Glenbow Museum is launching three new exhibits including Vivian Maier: In Her Own Hands.

We’re going for lunch today – to the newly opened Sidewalk Citizen in Central Memorial Park. Reservations are recommended, and we’re planning to eat their entire menu.

Support local and discover a treasure at Shelf Life Books, on 4th street next to Central Memorial Park.

Feeling the music? Head to Studio Bell, and check out their newest exhibition ADISQ Hall of Fame open 10-5pm.

If the weather permits, we’ll be grabbing a coffee in Kensington and taking a stroll along the Bow River Pathway. At this time of year the ice in the river usually takes on beautiful shapes and maybe you’ll spot a bird or two.

It’s Valentine’s Day! Come Dine with us and try special menus from Yellow Door Bistro, Oxbow, Raw Bar or grab a drink Poolside.

Looking for something to do after? Head to Dave Kelly Live’s Valentine’s Day Special at the Bella Concert Hall at 7:30pm.

Take a stroll on St. Patrick’s Island and stop in East Village for coffee or lunch.

Journey to Bowness Park and rent a pair of skates. Fall in love with skating on their impressive lagoon.

Flames are playing tonight! Get fired up for the game with Raw Bar‘s or Yellow Door Bistro‘s special Hockey Night menus!

We’ll be dining at Oxbow for their showtime menu (2-courses and a glass of wine for $30), then head off to Dear Evan Hansen at the Jubilee Auditorium. Details here.

A baked artichoke bread bowl and a glass of wine at Oxbow – yes please. But the real question is do you eat the entire bread bowl or not?

A little fresh air is always a good idea, so we’ll be heading to the Calgary Zoo for their famous Penguin Walk.

Ever wondered about Shuffle Club YYC? Around the corner from Hotel Arts is Home and Away. You’ll find Shuffle Club YYC in the basement. Check it out, and see what everyone is talking about.

Reward yourself with a Fried Chicken Sandwich for lunch from Yellow Door Bistro. This sandwich boasts black garlic soy, chili aioli, celery root slaw, and pickles on a potato bun – it’s AMAZING.

Phew, that was a busy month.

As far as next month goes, you can look forward to YYCEXP – Calgary’s food and drink festival.

Yellow Door Bistro, Oxbow and Raw Bar will all be creating 3-course menus with optional wine pairings. It’s a fantastic way to experience all types of food around the city.
