Billy Elliot the Musical

Theatre Calgary presents Billy Elliot the Musical, choreographed by former Alberta Ballet principal dancer Yukichi Hattori. The Tony Award-winning production Billy Elliot The Musical, tells the story of an English boy who longs to be a ballet dance.

Poutine with Purpose runs for 7 days and includes over 70 participating restaurants! In addition to enjoying incredible and unique poutine dishes, every poutine sold during Poutine with Purpose provides a healthy meal to a youth in need through Mealshare.

Calgary Comic Expo

April 25-28

Calling your inner nerd. The Calgary Comic Expo runs April 25-28 at the BMO Centre on Stampede Park. The Expo welcomes around 100,000 fans and features celebrity guests like Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman), Michael J Fox (Back to the Future) and Camila Mendes (Riverdale); panel discussions and hundreds of exhibitors.

Use the Fork, Luke! In honour of Calgary Comic Expo, Yellow Door Bistro is featuring Savoury Death Star Waffle! It’s a Parmesan & Chive Waffle with Sausage Mornay and Poached Egg with Hollandaise. Be a rebel and burst the yoke like an exploding Death Star.

Local brewery Caravel and the Chefs behind Oxbow Restaurant are collaborating for an evening of delightfully paired food and brew. Join a passionate team of beer enthusiasts and hear from Caravel Brewery founder Vlad Covali on beer tasting notes and their mission to revisit forgotten beers. Hotel Arts Executive Chef Quinn Staple, Oxbow Chef de Cuisine Jose Battad and Yellow Door Bistro Chef Scott Redekopp will pull inspiration from the featured brews and infuse local ingredients into this four-course beer pairing experience.

Learn more about influential fashion designer, Christian Dior at the new international fashion exhibition at the Glenbow. Exhibit curator Dr. Alexandra Palmer explores “how he made ‘women feel like women’ again after the Second World War, and why millions of women around the world were influenced by his designs”.

While you are there, check out the new exhibit featuring Calgary artist, Chris Cran, who will be debuting one new work at Glenbow, running February 9 – May 26th. Continue your art tour with a cocktail Raw Bar in Hotel Arts, where you can find 3 works by Chris Cran from his Chorus series.
