Introducing Hotel Arts Kensington

Hotel Arts
June 29, 2018
Guests can expect an inviting experience in a contemporary, design-centric space, shaking any upscale or fancy labels.

June 25, 2018 (Calgary) – Hotel Arts Group is proud to announce the launch of Hotel Arts Kensington on July 1, 2018.  This coincides with the anniversary of when Calgary-based Hotel Arts officially opened its doors in Victoria Park on July 1, 2005.

The property, currently known as Kensington Riverside Inn, will be rebranded to deliver a more welcoming, relaxed hospitality experience and better reflect the Hotel Arts Group values, emphasizing local connection, boutique experiences, culinary delights, artful flair, and exceptional service. More than a name change, the rebrand represents a change in attitude.

Guests can expect an inviting experience in a contemporary, design-centric space, shaking any upscale or fancy labels. “We want guests to feel comfortable in a welcoming environment,” says Mark Wilson, General Manager and Vice President with the Hotel Arts Group. “The rebrand should showcase that intimate, stylish experiences and warm, welcoming service are not mutually exclusive.”

The rebrand also heralds the end of the property’s membership with Relais & Chateaux, an association of some of the world’s finest hoteliers, chefs, and restauranteurs. Proudly designated as Calgary’s only Relais & Châteaux property in 2014, Wilson remarks that
“the difficult decision to leave the association is based on a cultural shift to provide a more approachable experience for valued guests that will in no way impact the level of service and personal attention provided at the hotel.”

Hotel Arts Kensington will celebrate its location in the trendy neighbourhood of Kensington delivering unique hospitality experiences inspired by our connection to our local community and culture. Under the new rebrand, the property will look to mirror the energy of the surrounding neighbourhood with its refreshed outlook.

From special getaways to staycations, corporate stays to visiting family, Hotel Arts Kensington offers personalized service and a menu of value-adds that make it an ideal choice for those seeking a boutique experience in the city.

About Hotel Arts Kensington

The 19-room boutique property was designed by award-winning architect Richard Lindseth and opened in 1999 as a country-style bed and breakfast. Hotel Arts Group acquired the property in 2007 and transformed it into a European-style boutique hotel with a fine-dining restaurant – Chef’s Table. In 2014, the property secured the coveted Relais & Châteaux designation, the first and only property in Calgary.  Since that time, extensive enhancements have been made to the guestrooms as well as a major renovation to the public spaces and the restaurant – Oxbow – which offers simple, well-executed food influenced by the innovative culinary style that Hotel Arts Group is known for. Under the rebrand to Hotel Arts Kensington, the property will maintain its commitment to welcoming hospitality, memorable dining experiences and design-centric décor, while preparing for an even greater artful influence to come under the Hotel Arts namesake.
