Boobyball presents Wild West: A Rethink Breast Cancer Fundraiser

Canada’s hottest event supporting Rethink Breast Cancer’s mission to raise awareness for the cause returns to Hotel Arts on October 20th. This can’t-miss event focuses on bringing together the movers & shakers in each city for a night of epic proportions supporting a fantastic cause.

This year, Boobyball is going country so get ready for a wild ride of southern hospitality, horseshoe-tossing and southern-inspired swills, all set against a desert chic backdrop. Dust off those boots and get that fringe on for the charitable event of the year!

Stampede City Sessions

Stampede City Sessions features the live concerts by passionate musicians from a wide variety of genres. Live shows are staged in the beautiful Webber Academy Performing Arts Centre Theatre, in Calgary offering live music fans an intimate performance with artists on the rise.  These live concerts are also broadcast on KSPS TV.

The upcoming show on October 26, 2018 welcomes Petric & Jenie Thai to the stage for what is sure to be an incredible performance.

WordFest at Raw Bar

Wordfest connects Calgarians of all ages and backgrounds with life-changing ideas through live events around the city featuring some of today’s most compelling writers, thinkers and dreamers, culminating in a 7-day reader’s festival is held October 8-15, 2018 with various events taking place in Raw Bar. Cook for the Cause Kitchen Party Fundraiser

The Calgary Chaîne the Rôtisseurs is hosting a fabulous Cook for the Cause Kitchen Party Fundraiser at The Tastemarket by SAIT on October 13, 2018.

This fundraising party creates funding opportunities of a lifetime for our emerging Albertan Young Chefs & Sommeliers by contributing to Chaîne the Rôtisseurs SAIT Young Chef Scholarship, Chaîne the Rôtisseurs Young Chefs National & International Competitions, & Chaîne the Rôtisseurs Young Sommeliers National & International Competitions.

The All-Star lineup of Chefs features Andrew Springett, Michael Dekker, Steve Lepine, Rosalyn Ediger, & Pastry Chef Christine Beard from SAIT, Chef Rogelio Herrera of ALLOY Restaurant, Chef Max Labhardt of the Calgary Flames & Entertainment Group, and Chef Quinn Staple of Hotel Arts Group.

Dave Kelly Live

Dave Kelly Live returns for another spectacular season in their stunning new home in the Bella Concert Hall at Mount Royal University. Featuring special guests, surprise appearances, and the best in Canadian talent, stories, and music. Once again, Dave will be joined by The Flat Whites, world-renowned visual artist Mandy Stobo, and the man with the beer – Jim Button.

The season opener on October 17th is a celebration of everything Calgary with a look at what we love about Calgary and the people who make this city our home. The event also includes special guest Reuben Bullock from Reuben and the Dark who stops by to chat about his new album, Arms of a Dream, and supporting the legacy of Gord Downie from the Tragically Hip.

Canada’s Great Kitchen Party

Canada’s Great Kitchen Party celebrates these pillars of Canadian culture – sport, music and food. High performing athletes will be provided the support they need to compete on the world stage. Band equipment will be purchased for schools, enabling students to discover the magic of music. And kids will learn from leading Canadian chefs how to grow, cook and share healthy food to gain the skills and confidence they need to become the next generation of Canada’s food leaders.

This year’s regional event in Calgary takes place on November 1st, 2018 at the Calgary Telus Convention Centre where the best in local talent, including Oxbow Restaurant’s Rupert Garcia, will compete for the chance to win their way to The Canadian Culinary Championships in Kelowna, BC.
