Yellow Door Bistro at Hotel Arts
Yellow Door Bistro is the latest restaurant to be launched by the Hotel Arts Group. Following on the successes of Raw Bar by Duncan Ly and Chef’s Table at Kensington Riverside Inn, Yellow Door Bistro seats 112 patrons for breakfast, lunch and dinner service. The design marries classical elements and contemporizes them with some unexpected and almost whimsical surprises which become instantly evident upon entering the restaurant space.Much like the décor, Executive Chef Duncan Ly prepares bistro-inspired dishes with a reverence for classic ingredients but served up with a contemporary twist. Yellow Door Bistro will also feature an enomatic wine program with 1oz, 3oz and 5oz pours of diverse wines. Raw Bar by Duncan Ly
Raw Bar by Duncan Ly was relaunched in late October 2013 with fresh new decor and Vietmodern cuisine. The new direction showcases Executive Chef Duncan Ly’s Vietnamese background as well as his innovative interpretations of Vietnamese cuisine. Many of the dishes are inspired by Chef Ly’s early upbringing in Vietnam but they’re refined with his own personal flare based on his classical training and exposure to diverse culinary influences.Executive Chef Duncan Ly, Sous Chef Jinhee Lee and their team divide up the menu with an array of items like the Pork Imperial Spring Rolls (Cha Gio) along with a few raw items too like our Heritage Angus Beef Carpaccio (Bo Tai Chanh) or the Spicy Salmon & Tuna Tartar. The Small Plates Menu features a few items that will quickly garner loyal fans - Seafood Tamarind Soup (Canh Chua); Beef Short Rib Steamed Buns; Ginger Caramel Sablefish Clay Pot. The Big Plates Menu still has classic dishes like our famous Pad Thai and our Lemongrass Coconut Braised Chicken Curry.Raw Bar General Manager Christina Mah and her team have won a host of cocktail competitions including the prestigious Calgary Cocktail Challenge. These expert mixologists take great pride in concocting unique elixers for the cocktail crowd with fresh ingredients and premium liquors. Raw Bar also features an extensive wine-by-the-glass program and an eclectic mix of beers including some local favourites from Big Rock Brewery and Village Brewery. Raw Bar by Duncan Ly also features a private dining area that can be booked for special events.
