Well hey, there, YYC! Happy almost May! This upcoming month is slam-packed with things to celebrate – from the Flames making it to the playoffs, to Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day just around the corner. It’s going to be a good month; we can feel it!
As we head into the last week of April, let’s take a look at all the fun festivities going on in early May at Hotel Arts Group.
NHL PLAYOFFS
Let’s go flames, let’s go!!
Sorry, we’re a bit fired up for this one. But, it’s been two long years since the Flames hit the ice in a playoff game. But after their 9-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes and a 1st place hold on the pacific division, we are excited to cheer on our home team alongside the sea of red. Throughout the playoffs, both Yellow Door Bistro and Poolside will be hosting unique Flames game offers, so let’s chat about them!
Poolside Viewing Party
Only a short shooter ride from the Red Mile (please ride carefully, Calgary), Poolside will be hosting round 1 viewing parties for each Flames home game of the playoffs. Yep, we’re talking all home AND away games.
Sit back and relax in our comfortable 25° urban oasis while you enjoy the live viewing of the game and food & drink features. From one hour before puck drop until the end of the 3rd period, we will be featuring all our local draught beers and an extra special Poolside hockey night menu.
Keep an eye on our socials for the drop of our Hockey Night menu, it’s going to be a tasty one. Reservations are highly recommended. Additional seating will be on a first-come-first-served basis.

Yellow Door Bistro Game Night Menu
Are you one of the lucky ones who scored playoff tickets? Or maybe you’re the kickback and relax in your lazy boy type of hockey fan. Either way, we’ve got your pre-game ritual for this year’s playoffs.
For every Flames home game during the playoffs, Yellow Door Bistro will be offering our Hockey Night menu and drink features. Enjoy two courses for $25 plus $5 feature draught and glasses of wine. Stop by for dinner and be out the door just in time for puck drop.
Located only a few blocks from the action at the Scotiabank Saddledome, Yellow Door Bistro and Poolside will be offering free self-parking at Hotel Arts, which we’ve extended for patrons attending the game. Just bring your dining receipt and ticket to the front desk for parking validation.

CINCO DE MAYO
On the 5th of May we celebrate Mexican food and culture, and how do we celebrate you may ask? Tacos, tequila and music of course!
This year for Cinco de Mayo, Poolside by Hotel Arts will be rolling out two special tequila cocktails and a taco menu which will be served all weekend long! On Thursday & Friday, our Hotel Arts Resident DJ will be playing Latin music from 6-9 PM on the pool deck, bringing those Puerto Vallarta vibes to Calgary’s Urban Resort.
Visit us on OpenTable to make your reservation. Walk-ins will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note, our Pool will be closed for a private event on Saturday, May 7th from 6-8 PM.

With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, it’s time to start planning for the special day. Whether you’re looking to celebrate your Mom, grandmother or another influential woman in your life, join Hotel Arts Group for our Mother’s Day offerings and brunch events.
Family Brunch at Hotel Arts
Celebrate Mom this Mother’s Day with a delightful family-friendly brunch buffet. Enjoy a vast selection of brunch favourites, complete with a complimentary mimosa for Mom, chef-attended brunch stations, a decadent dessert spread and interactive activities for the kids.

Over at our Kensington location, the culinary team at Oxbow has crafted the perfect way to say thank you to Mom— a three-course brunch in the heart of Kensington.
Spend quality time together and spoil her with this spectacular Mother’s Day Brunch for only $35 per person. As part of this three-course menu, guests will receive a welcome basket of house-made pastries, a mixed berry yogurt parfait, and a choice of entrée (don’t worry, we made sure eggs benedict is on the menu 😉 ).
