Hotel Arts Group welcomes their newest restaurant, Oxbow, opening tonight, April 3, 2017, within the Kensington Riverside Inn. Taking over the space that was Chef’s Table, Oxbow is set to deliver a completely refreshed style of dining. Expect a welcoming and approachable experience complimented with simple, well-executed food elevated by the innovative culinary style that Hotel Arts Group is known for.
Chef de Cuisine Sean Cutler, under the direction of Hotel Arts Group Executive Chef Jan Hansen, has developed a menu that bends traditional comforts through creativity and skill, showcasing seasonal ingredients for a truly unique but perfectly familiar experience. Bringing you dining as it was meant to be – honestly uncomplicated.
“The experience of dining at Oxbow is that of ease,” says Mark Wilson, General Manager and Vice President of Hotel Arts Group, speaking to both the cuisine as well as the overall restaurant concept. “It will be a stylish yet casual place for both locals and visitors to enjoy while indulging in good food, without any fancy expectations or unapproachable offerings.” Oxbow will be a relaxed and inviting hub with a clear emphasis on good food.
The restaurant’s namesake, an ode to a bend in the river, is a playful trope to its location along the Bow River in Kensington. As a bow in the journey of your day, Oxbow offers the opportunity to sip and savour in the lounge or on the seasonal river view patio, share a meal among friends in the comfortable dining room, or something uniquely in between. Oxbow will bend to suit your tempo.
The space, designed by Sarah Ward Interiors, has been seamlessly transformed into an inviting retreat, drawing inspiration from the river and the regional area. Blending traditional elements with modern pieces of visual interest, Ward has maintained Hotel Arts Group’s focus on art without creating an air of extravagance. The upgraded designs have been extended to the lobby of the Kensington Riverside Inn, resulting in a major enhancement to the overall experience for guests visiting the property.
