The sudden jump in COVID cases in Calgary and Alberta this July is alarming and, now, more than ever, we all need to be vigilant about adhering to health and social distancing protocols.
Hotel Arts, like many other businesses across the province, devoted considerable energies and resources to reopening venues to ensure that guest experiences are safe, enjoyable and memorable but that remains contingent on everyone following the necessary health and social distancing protocols to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
To help keep businesses open and Calgary moving in the right direction, we all need to do our part by practicing safe physical distancing, mask wearing when needed and adhering to the recommendations put forth by our provincial experts.
This is particularly important for our popular poolside patio. Notwithstanding its outdoor setting and lush decor, this isn’t a
place or time to be cavalier about Alberta Health Services’ rules as well as our own safety measures. COVID-19 cases are starting to rise again so we’re asking all our patrons to do the right thing by following our protocols so that we can keep everyone safe and having a good time at our poolside patio this summer.
So here’s a quick refresh:
- Hotel Arts will seat you in groups up to 6 people maximum and your seating area will be 2m away from other tables/groups. If you’re a group of 10, we’ll seat you at two separate tables…one of 6 and one of 4.
- Do NOT move between groups. While this is a highly social setting, please stay in your group and don’t migrate between tables. By restricting your movements to within your group and designated space, we can help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
- When you’re in the pool itself, please stay within your own group/cohort and don’t migrate into other group’s space. Respect the 2m distancing protocols between groups and individuals in the pool.
- Please do not move chairs, tables or our social distancing markers. We have already measured out the space according to AHS regulations so please leave it to us to manage the space. You just worry about enjoying your time in the sun.
- Please adhere to all AHS health protocols – wash your hands for more than 20 seconds, avoid handshakes and hugs for people outside your cohort, don’t touch your face, and please use our hand sanitizer stations when entering and existing the poolside area.
If these rules don’t work for you, we’d recommend that you stay home or in your guestroom so that you do not put others at risk.
If we all do our part, we can all enjoy a chance to chill out at Poolside by Hotel Arts this summer. We are excited to safely welcome and service our guests in a manner that helps prevents prevent the spread of COVID-19.
