Better Get Hit in Your Soul – Dances inspired by the music, life and times of Charles Mingus
In 2013, DJD premiered a piece about the wild short life of Charles Mingus–a virtuoso bass player, accomplished pianist, bandleader and composer. Known as the ‘Angry Man of Jazz’, Mingus was a brilliant, mercurial and bodacious character. Back by popular demand, “Better Get Hit in Your Soul” gives audiences an ear and eye into the music of one of the most important figures in 20th century American music through interpretive dance.

This Is That Live – Hosts Pat Kelly and Peter Oldring offer audiences a brand new version of their hit touring live show for the 2018 season. The show is in two acts: The first half is a mix of the duo performing new and fan-favourite material from their award winning radio show on CBC. In the second half, they turn the writing responsibilities over to the audience and improvise brand new stories on the spot.
Just a few blocks from Yellow Door Bistro, enjoy dinner before the show, or stop by after all the great laughter for delicious dessert and post-show cocktail fare.
Saks Fifth Avenue Shopping Event

In support of the Women For Men’s Health Gala, Saks Fifth Avenue Calgary will be hosting a fashion show curated by PARK’s Kara Chomistek. The evening event will include champage and passed canapes catered by Hotel Arts. In addition to being great hosts for the fashion show, Saks will also be donating a portion of all sales on January 17th to the Women for Men’s Health Initiative at the Calgary Prostate Cancer Centre.
